Klankvorm presents Sensing Signals at Radio Kootwijk
Saturday 14th of October, 17:30 – 23:00
Radioweg 1, 7348 BG Radio Kootwijk

Sensing Signals is an artistic research project by Klankvorm focusing on experiencing the invisible world of signals that surround us. In and around the monumental Art Deco Radio Kootwijk building, designed by architect Julius Luthmann, artists are invited to create multisensory artworks inspired by the former radio telegraphic transmission station.

During this event, different performances, installations, and a sound walk can be experienced, unraveling the genius loci of the building and its natural surroundings of De Veluwe.

(We have arranged an Indonesian catering service for the event. With this, we hope all visitors can join early and experience the whole programme from start to end)

Practical matters

Radio Kootwijk is situated in a Natura 2000 area, a European network of protected national parks, which gives the location and the vicinity some strict regulations regarding sound and light, resulting in a limited capacity in the amount of visitors and vehicles. Since there is a limited amount of parking spots we highly recommend that you carpool and drive together to keep the amount of vehicles within the limits.

Radio Kootwijk is quite remote and hard to reach by public transportation, so we do give our audience (from Rotterdam and/or around Rotterdam) an option to travel along in a bus that will drive from Rotterdam to Radio Kootwijk and back. Therefore, we offer a special combi ticket including bus transport (ticket link in the comments). The bus will leave at 16:00h from the bus station (Conradstraat) at the side of Rotterdam Central Station (ETA Radio Kootwijk 17:30h), and will return to the same location after the event (ETA Rotterdam Central Station 00:30h). Look out for the ‘Verschoor Reizen’ bus. Once you have purchased a ticket with bus transport, you will receive additional information.

The event will start at 17:30h with various installations and a soundwalk. This part of the programme can be attended till 20:30h, after which the performances, held in Gebouw A, will start. The programme will finish at 22:45h. Be aware that the area does not offer a restaurant or any food option. Therefore, in addition to a bar, we have arranged an Indonesian catering service for the event. With this, we hope all visitors can join early and experience the whole programme from start to end.

If you still have questions regarding transport, location or other practical matters, send a mail to info@klankvorm.nl
