Klankvorm #3

For the third edition of Klankvorm we are collaborating with the Filmwerkplaats for their Festival Back to the Future: Project! Our contribution to the festival on the 4th and 5th of November consists of two projects: Matters-ton, an audiovisual performance by Tatsuru Arai and Phyllotaxis, a generative kinetic light installation by Macular. This Klankvorm edition is hosted by V2_ Community.

programme:

Saturday the 4th of November, 21.00 @ V2_ / Performance

Tatsuru Arai – Matters-ton

Tatsuru Arai is a composer and sound/graphic-programmer from Japan, who lives and works in Berlin. His main artistic theme is to integrate classical compositions to new technology, as “Trans-Ages-Music”, and to present the fundamental physical nature of the universe in the form of perceptional experiences, that could say aesthetics of “geometric structure”. The audiovisual performance “Matters-ton” is the second work for the Hyper Serial Music project and the successor of “Arkhitek-ton”. At Klankvorm #3 “Matters-ton” will have its Dutch premiere.

Sunday the 5th of November, 12.00 – 18.00 @ V2_ / Installation

Macular – Phyllotaxis

Phyllotaxis is a project by Daan Johan and Joris Strijbos in which they explore the audiovisual possibilities of self-constructed feedback systems by means of kinetic light machines and modular synthesizers. Algorithms interfere in the interaction between the light, the sound, and the movement of the kinetic installation. A continuous evolution occurs in the composition of repetitive and circular patterns. In this way the space is transformed into a hypnotic vortex in which abstract patterns in sound and light merge into an intense experience. Phyllotaxis is kindly supported by the Mondriaan Fund.
