Klankvorm showcase: AV performances at Flatpack Festival Birmingham (UK)

On Saturday the 18th of May Klankvorm will present two audiovisual performances at Flatpack Festival in Birmingham. These performances, which are taking place in the old factory Printmakers Arms, are a part of Flatpack's Optical Sound program.

Rotterdam based artist and filmmaker Nan Wang will present Hue Shift, a performance that unveils the hidden magic that happens when light hits transparent materials using a DIY projector and polariscopes. In addition visual artist Marco Broeders and sound artist Julian Edwardes will present The Open Loop, a commissioned audiovisual entrainment performance. In The Open Loop strong stroboscopic lights are combined with experimental electronics for the full synaesthetic experience.

In addition to the Klankvorm showcase at the Printmakers Arms on Saturday the 18th of May, Flatpack also hosts an interesting program called Mind & Machines: Creativity & AI at The Exchange / University of Birmingham on Thursday the 16th of May. As part of this program Nenad Popov will present I(H)RL, a live cinema performance reflecting on how the current AI understands our world, which premiered at Klankvorm Audiovisual Explorations program in Cinerama Rotterdam in January 2023.
